Lecture-Recital by Pavlos Antoniadis
The lecture part of this event focuses on the paradigm-shift brought about by complex notation in the field of piano interpretation after 1950. The presentation will include examples from:
Olivier Messiaen's 'Mode de valeurs et d'intensités'
Iannis Xenakis's 'Mists'
Brian Ferneyhough's 'Opus Contra Naturam'
followed by a recital, featuring music by Mark Andre 'Contrapunctus' (1998-99) and
Nicolas Tzortzis 'Incompatible(s) V', version for piano solo [original version for silent piano and live electronics] (2011-2012)
