Frances Corner, Vice-Chancellor

As Vice-Chancellor, Professor Frances Corner OBE is the academic and administrative leader of Goldsmiths.

Previously Head of the London College of Fashion and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Arts London, Professor Corner brings more than 20 years’ experience in higher education leadership to Goldsmiths.

David Oswell, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange

As Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Oswell is responsible for leading the development and overseeing the implementation of Goldsmiths’ Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy.

As Provost he is the senior academic of Goldsmiths with membership of the Executive Board, with responsibility for Strategic Planning and Projecs as we go through a time of development.   

David joined Goldsmiths in 2001 and from 2013 to 2016 was Head of Department for Sociology. His current research interests concern the social life and history of children, childhood and children’s rights.

Professor Paul Rowlett

Paul Rowlett, Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience

Professor Paul Rowlett is responsible for strategic oversight of the College’s academic portfolio, education and the student experience, and academic staff progression and development.

His academic background is modern languages, and he has published several research articles and monographs on French language and linguistics. Since 2016 he has undertaken consultancy and interim leadership assignments for HE institutions including the University of Warwick, the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art and the University of West London.

Adam Dinham, Executive Dean of Faculty

Professor Adam Dinham is jointly leading the development of a new academic Faculty structure at Goldsmiths. He is Professor of Faith and Public Policy and Director of the Faiths and Civil Society Unit at Goldsmiths. He previously served as Co-Head of the Department of Social, Therapeutic and Community Studies from April 2020 until July 2022, and was Director of Research in the Department in the lead up to REF 2021.

Adam’s research interests focus on a social justice framing of religion and belief as a protected characteristic in equality policy and practice, particularly across health and social care and schools. He is professionally qualified in Social Work and psychotherapy.

Stephen Graham, Executive Dean of Faculty

Professor Stephen Graham is jointly leading the development of a new academic Faculty structure at Goldsmiths. He joined the Executive Board as Head of the School of Arts and Humanities in 2021, having been co-Head of the Department of Music from 2018. 

Stephen's research interests cover 20th and 21st-Century music including underground, experimental, popular, and art musics. 

His latest book, Becoming Noise Music was published by Bloomsbury in 2023.

Imran Chughtai, Chief Finance and Infrastructure Officer

Imran joined Goldsmiths in September 2021 as Chief Finance Officer, becoming Chief Finance and Infrastructure Officer in 2024 with responsibility for IT, Estates, Risk Management, Resilience and Compliance, and Communications, Recruitment and Marketing.

He previously worked for Aamal Company Q.P.S.C, a publicly-listed company operating within Industrials, Life Sciences and Real Estate sectors where he was Group CFO.

Prior to Aamal, Imran was Group CFO at Zuellig Pharma, Asia's largest Pharma distributor, having also worked at Huawei Technologies and Whirlpool Corporation.

Margaret Bird, interim director of People and Organisational Development

As the executive lead of the People and Organisational Development directorate, Margaret is responsible for delivering the College’s human resources work. She joined Goldsmiths in July 2024, bringing extensive experience from a career in the NHS and higher education.
