Step 1: Log into the online application portal
Before applying for accommodation you should have registered and been sent a validation code. You can then log into the online application portal using your email address and password.
If you have not registered for your account, please follow the steps in our guide to registering for accommodation.

Step 2: Start your application
Once logged in, you will be given the opportunity to start your application. You can do so by clicking 'New Application' or the 'Apply' link in the welcome message.

Step 3: Select your session
Once you arrive at the New Application page, you will be asked to select your session - this is the academic year that you are applying to move into halls for.

Step 4: Select your application type
Next, you will be asked to select whether you are a new or continuing student.
A new student is someone who will be starting at Goldsmiths for the first time.
A continuing student is someone that has completed at least one year studying at Goldsmiths and will be continuing their studies.

Step 5: Select your course type
You will then be asked to select the course type you will be studying on. The options will be:
- Undergraduate: Select this option if you will be studying a BA, BMus, BSc, LLB or an Integrated degree.
- Postgraduate: Select this option if you will be studying a Graduate Certificate/Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma, MA, MFA, MRes, Msc, MMus, LLM or MPhil/PhD programme.
- PGCE: Select this option if you will be studying a teacher training course.
- Study Abroad/Erasmus - Sponsored: Select this option if you are on a study abroad scheme and your home university or agent is paying your accommodation fees direct to Goldsmiths.
- Study Abroad/Erasmus - Self Payer: Select this option is you are on a study abroad scheme and you are paying your own accommodation fees.

Step 6: Confirm your selection
You will need to confirm your pathway to ensure you have selected the right application and course type.
For example, if you are a new student starting at Goldsmiths for the first time on an undergraduate course then you should see the 'New Undergraduate' option.
If the information shown is incorrect, return to the application and course type steps to re-select your choices.

Step 7: Choose your halls
Now that you have selected the type of students you are, you can next choose your prefered rooms in which halls. You will be able to choose several options in order of preference.
Browse hall and room options
First, you will be presented with a list of halls and room types within the halls that you are eligible to apply for.
If you are looking for specific types of rooms, you can use the filter to search by room types or price.
To view details of a hall, and to apply for a room in that hall, select 'View'.

Hall and room information
After clicking 'View' you will be brought to a page with more information on the hall and a link to the accommodation website to find out further information.
There is also the hall address, a map of the location and the room types available to apply for.
Applying for a room
Use the 'Apply' button next to the room types to apply for any eligible rooms.

Step 8: Select your preferences
Clicking 'Apply' will bring you to your preferences screen, which will state the minimum number of room options you will need to select in order to submit an application.
Please note that these room options will need to be spread over a certain number of halls.
You will not be able to move on to the next step of your application until you have selected the required number of rooms, spread across the required number of halls.
Selecting multiple room choices
Once you have selected one room option, click 'Add Another', which will take you back to the hall choices page where you can continue to browse hall and room options.
Please continue to ‘View’ and ‘Apply’ until the minimum number of room choices needed to submit an application have been selected. If you select a room type that you have already applied for, a message will come up telling you this. You should then make another selection.

Prioritising your room choices
As you apply to more rooms, you can move your room options up and down the list, moving your most preferred room type towards the top and your least preferred choices towards the bottom.
Once you have added the minimum number of room types, the 'Next' button will appear at the bottom of the list.

Step 8: Fill out further details
Once you have selected the required number of rooms and placed them in order of preference, you will be taken to the further details page.
You will be required to complete any mandatory fields.
You can also state in the notes section whether there is anything the Accommodation Office will need to consider when processing your application (medical/non-medical).

Step 10: Review your application
You will then be shown a summary of your application.
If you need to make any changes, click 'Edit' to make the necessary changes.
If you wish to start the application process again, press 'Delete'.
Once you are happy with your application, click 'Submit'.

Step 11: Submit your application
After reading the Terms of Application, please tick the box to confirm these have been read and understood.
If you wish to save your application to be submitted at a later date, click 'No'. Your application will then be marked as 'complete but not submitted'.
If you are happy with your application, click 'Yes' to submit your application.

An 'application submitted' screen will appear to confirm your application has been submitted.
You will also be sent an email confirming that you have made an application. Please check your Junk Mail if you cannot find this email in your inbox.
