Bhurti Temple and Pillar Complex

Although this area was considered one of the more remote parts of Nepal, it had previously been the site of an important kingdom whose dynasty was called Malla. The village houses a significant complex of pillar-temples, for which World Heritage Site status has recently been sought. Similar pillars, although not in such quantity, are also found in the nearby villages of Jajarkot and Kimu Gau.  On a small hill above Bhurti village lies a famous temple called Belaspur.
