Collaborative film screening and a panel discussion: Responding to the themes and concepts held up for debate in "Traces of the Future"
"Traces of the Future", an exhibition running from 27 January to 26 March at the Nunnery Gallery, attempts to combine Conceptual Art and Anthropology through the responses of two visual artists, Evgenia Arbugaeva and Mariele Neudecker, to the field work of social anthropologist Prof. Wenzel Paul Geissler, carried out at the Amni Hill Research Station in the Tanzanian rainforest.
Through a collaborative screening and panel event, held in conjunction with the exhibition, the Anthropology department at Goldsmiths will critically engage with the themes and concepts held up for debate within “Traces of the Future”.
The screening, followed by a panel discussion and Q & A, will be held on 09 March 2017 and will feature short works from Goldsmiths Anthropology staff and students.
The Panel will include:
Prof. Sophie Day
Dr Ricardo Leizaola (Film and Panel)
Dr Martyn Wemyss
Dr E. Gabriel Dattatreyan (Film and Panel)
Dr Pauline Von Hellermann
Mike Pearson
