A one day event to celebrate audio drama in all its forms, from the BBC Radio Drama Department to the independent radio drama sector to podcasts.
From The Archers to Wooden Overcoats – radio/audio drama has taken many forms over its lifetime, but what does the industry look like today?
There will be discussion panels featuring leading figures in the world of British radio/audio drama. The Guest of Honour is the playwright and radio dramatist Roy Williams. And there will be a keynote lecture on audio drama delivered by Professor Seán Street – writer, poet and broadcaster, and Britain’s first Professor of Radio.
Our guests will jointly curate a selection of what – in their view – are five outstanding audio dramas broadcast in the last decade (2008-2018).
The day will provide a great networking opportunity for industry people, and for those not in the industry, it'll be the perfect intro to some of the finest radio drama around.
Attendance is free and open to all members of Goldsmiths and also to members of the public. Hope to see you there!
Location: The festival will take place in The Professor Stuart Hall Building which is opposite the Richard Hoggart Building (main building), on the other side of the college green.
