An exhibition of retro psychedelic posters from gigs at Goldsmiths featuring giants of rock Deep Purple, Love and many more.
Sounds of the summer of love and protest pictures take you back to a time when some of the biggest names in rock and folk played at Goldsmiths and Student Unions across London.
View rarely seen gig posters from the late 60s and early 70s featuring bands that went on to achieve global stardom like Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Love, Procul Harum, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Manfred Mann, John Martyn, King Crimson, Ambrose Slade and many more.
Alongside iconic posters, photographs by David Bracher document life at Goldsmiths and the surrounding area in a period of great social and cultural change. From protests to gigs on the Green, they paint a vivid picture of campus life.
In addition, ephemera and recollections from those who were there provide insights into the personal experiences and stories of Goldsmiths students at a time of unprecedented political and intergenerational change.
A private view will be held on Thursday, 7 March from 5–9pm. All welcome and refreshments will be provided.
The Kingsway Corridor exhibition space is located to the rear of the Richard Hoggart Building, connecting the two main thoroughfares that lead from main reception to the College Green.
