Event overview
Trios for our Time: Open workshop to hear pieces for flute, cello and piano.
London Composers Forum is the capital’s organisation for composers of contemporary classical music and their 2019 project is 'Trios for our Time' involving the composition of pieces for flute, cello and piano, to be performed by the Marsyas Trio, who specialise in performing new works for this unusual combination.
The event at Goldsmiths is a workshop to rehearse seven new works written by LCF members Alan Hilton, Miriam Mackie, Peter Openshaw, Michael Regan, Elizabeth Sharma, Isa Suarez and Alan Taylor, prior to a concert on June 12.
This open workshop will be of interest to music students and anyone interested in the process of composing or in contemporary music. In it, the composers will hear their scores played for the first time and will gain technical and artistic feedback from the musicians.
This event is free to attend for students and LCF members.
The concert Trios for our Time will be on Wednesday 12 June, 7:30pm, 1901 Arts Club, 7 Exton Street, London SE1 8UE (very close to Waterloo Station). Booking will be via the venue, and we can offer the concessionary rate for tickets of £10 to students.
