Our Masterclass series continues with one of London's most versatile and respected vocal tutors, Ashley Stafford.
Ashley Stafford is a professional musician, singer, teacher and osteopath. His 40 years experience of teaching ranges across every age group and experience level.
He has appeared in major concert halls and venues in Europe, USA, the Far East and Australia, was a founder member of the Tallis Scholars, and performaed and recorded with the Hilliard Ensemble. He was a vocal professor at the Royal College of Music for over 20 years, and continues to teach in London, Vienna and Helsinki, as well as at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, and was invited to become a vocal tutor at Goldsmiths in September 2016. Alongside his other professional work, Ashley was also a vicar-choral at St Paul’s Cathedral, developing an international solo career as a recitalist and oratorio singer of a wide range of musical periods and styles.
As a qualified osteopath, Ashley’s particular interest is the integration of vocal and instrumental performance with osteopathic principles. To this end since 1995 he has been running regular workshops for singers and instrumentalists. The focus is the development of a holistic integrated approach to musical interpretation and performance. These workshops have taken place regularly in UK, France, Austria, Germany and Finland and Italy.
