Featuring improvised music by Khabat Absa on cello and object and Hardi Kurda on viola and radio.
Broken resonance shapes a new sound, through an improvisation act between two improvisers to explore unexpected musical expressions which is focusing on the power of sound and how it forces us to act, react and distract rather than any connotations.

Hardi Kurda is a composer, sound artist, improviser, curator, and PhD candidate at Goldsmiths. His works explores founded score from everyday material to uncover compositional and improvisational strategies i.e. Carpet, ECG monitor, Maps, Radio and Newspapers. Thus, his music offers the listener a broader sense of how composition can transcend limits that traditional Western practice can often place on it. Hardi s` music has been performed in concerts, exhibitions, and festivals, like; Irtijal Festival in Beirut, Recherche Ensemble in Freiburg, Sound Place exhibition and Estrangement/Showroom in London, Magnet Festival, Vara in Sweden, Berliner Festspiele - MaerzMusik by Adapter Ensemble and among others. He improvised with Klaas Hübner, Sharif Sehnaoui, Dror Feiler, Mansoor Hussini, Adam Bohman, Claudia Risch and Kate Ryder. Besides, Hardi is a founder and curator of the exhibition Space21 (co-curated with Brandon LaBelle), for sound art in Kurdistan/Iraq presented Hammams Maqam, the sonic, architectural, and social memory aspects of the Hammam, the old public bath.

Khabat Abas is a cello improviser and mostly plays prepared cello with various material to extend the sound and visual aspect of her cello. Some preparation leads to a permanent change in her cello. Khabat played in the classical genre as well with Iraqi national symphony orchestra and Gothenburg academy symphony orchestra. She has had masterclass with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, 2003 in Washington D.C. She played with Ensemble for New Music Inter Arts Centre, Malmö in Sweden and Improvisation Ensemble Schwarm 13 in Berlin. Currently, she studies music at Goldsmiths.
