Event overview
Join percussionist Rosie Bergonzi on her exploration of sounds.
This theatrical performance will share old favourites alongside new commissions. Rosie is fascinated in the space where percussion meets text so expect to hear stories in alongside more traditional percussion.
Rosie Bergonzi studied at Goldsmiths, University of London for her BMus, awarded in 2014 with First Class Honours. She continued her studies at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, completing her masters in Advanced Instrumental Study in 2016 and being awarded a Fellowship in Percussion the following year. Her studies were generously funded by the Nick Jack Award and the Hilda Martindale Foundation.
She is now an active musician, with notable performances including a world tour with Neneh Cherry (2018); BBC Proms with the Chineke! Orchestra (2017); Musical Rumpus, an interactive opera for toddlers (2017); A sell out performance of Drumming, performed to Steve Reich himself (2016); a solo set in the Barbican’s Sound Unbound Festival (2015) and winning the Goldsmiths Concerto contest (2014) allowing her to perform as soloist in the Ney Rosaruo Vibraphone Concerto (2015).
