Event overview
Our event celebrates the official launch of this digitised edition of Contact by bringing together some of its former editors and contributors.
Contact: a journal of contemporary music, co-founded by Chris Villars and Keith Potter, ran for almost twenty years, acquiring a reputation as one of the most forward-looking, and independent, publications of its kind.
The journal has long been out of print, and hard to obtain. During the last few years, however, James Bulley, with the support of Fiorenzo Palermo, has been constructing a digitised version of all thirty-four issues of Contact (1971-1990), which will shortly be freely available online.
Our event celebrates the official launch of this digitised edition of Contact by bringing together some of its former editors and contributors to talk about the journal's history. James Bulley will also demonstrate the digitised version.
James Bulley is an Associate Researcher at the Music Department at Goldsmiths.
