During this Marketing Practioner Talk, Stephanie and Sean, Goldsmiths alumni, will share their experiences working as researchers at Kantar.
The Marketing Practitioner Talks bring practitioners to Goldsmiths to talk about their career choices, what it's like to work in the industry, and give tips to aspiring marketeers.
On Thursday the 21st of November, we welcome Stephanie Holt and Sean Duggan, two Goldsmiths alumni who will share share their experiences working as researchers at Kantar, a multinational market intelligence company. Sean and Steph will retrace their respective journeys through their Masters courses at Goldsmiths to how they ended up working on the same team at Kantar. They will take the audience through a day in the life of a client-facing researcher specialising in Innovation, highlighting current research methodologies commonly used throughout the industry. They will relate their studies at Goldsmiths to their present careers and professional interests with the aim of inspiring students in the audience to consider careers in market intelligence by participating in Kantar's Graduate Program while also reinforcing the value of studying at the Goldsmiths IMS.
Originally from the US, Sean spent seven years working in the Ski Industry after completing an undergraduate degree in Business Economics at the University of Maine. Sean moved to London to pursue a Masters degree at Goldsmiths in 2016 and graduated with distinction in 2017. He worked freelance as a mixed-methods researcher before joining Kantar UK in 2019.
Stephanie completed her undergraduate studies at Southampton Solent University in 2012 where she received a degree in Advertising and Marketing. She spent four years working as an account manager for a film merchandise company ideating, manufacturing and distributing globally. She enrolled at the Goldsmiths IMS in 2016 and graduated with merit in 2018, after which she joined Kantar UK in 2018 through their Graduate Scheme and eventually landed a permanent role on the Innovation team.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A. Everyone welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
