Event overview
Kajal Odedra, ECL alumna and UK Executive Director at Change.org.
Women are winning more than ever; while men start more petitions on change.org, our recent analysis found that women under 35 win more. I'll delve into our trends and why we think women are so successful with activism with the help of the internet.
Kajal Odedra is a writer and activist with over 12 years experience in the campaigns sector. As Executive Director for Change.org UK, the largest petition platform, she has grown the platform to over 17 million users in the UK. She has supported some of the biggest people powered campaigns in the UK - from Laura Coryton’s campaign to end the tampon tax to Richard Ratcliffe’s fight to free his wife Nazanin from prison in Iran. After identifying a diversity problem in the UK campaigns sector she founded the People of Colour in Campaigns network. She is a trustee for Save The Children UK and the Leadsership Committee for women in STEM network, Ada's List. Her first book, Do Something; activism for everyone, is out now.
