Event overview
WAES HAEL! DRINC HAEL! Join us on Olde Twelfth Night to bless the trees and scare away the demons.
From the Anglo-Saxon wæs þu hæl meaning "be thou hale", join us at the Goldsmiths Allotments (next to Print Services and behind Anthropology) from 4pm to bless the apple trees, waken the tree sprits and to scare away the demons.
Bring cider/apple juice and food to share, instruments or items to make noise, plus your singing and shouting voices!
Free event, all welcome
Stand fast root, bear well top
Pray God send us a good howling crop
Every twig, apples big
Every bough, apples enow.
Hats full, caps full, full quarter sacks full
Holla boys holla!
