The Department of Music at Goldsmiths, University of London is delighted to invite you to the launch of this year's MMus Music Degree Show celebrating the amazing work of our Masters of Music of students, covering the pathways Creative Practice, Composition, Sonic Arts, Performance & Related Studies and Popular Music. Due to the pandemic this will take place online this year, via the PureGold Festival website from 2nd - 7th November.
This launch event will take place via zoom via Zoom and we are hoping to perform a joint online version of John White's 'Drinking and Hooting Machine'. Visitors should have a full bottle at the ready, be that beer or water...
You can expect a selection of very diverse and high-quality works from a group of inspiring students, including investigations about feminist drone music, invisible film sound tracks, interdisciplinary performances and much more, including a performance by Khabat Abas, the experimental cellist and improviser from Kurdistan Iraq and Joseph Harmsworth will demo his interactive website project 'The Dream Lens' which generates music and audio-visual scenarios through interaction with texts, star charts, and archives of photographs and maps.
