Event overview
Explore the interactive exhibition installed around College Green with the curator and research lead, examining creative action and gender (in)equalities around the world
Dis/locating Cultures of Equality is an interactive, multi-sensorial and ‘covid-secure’ exhibition installed around College Green at the centre of campus. Organised by the Global Gender and Cultures of Equality (GlobalGRACE) project, it features research-informed art from Bangladesh, Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines and South Africa.
At this event, Siobhán McGuirk (curator, Anthropology) and Nirmal Puwar (research lead, Sociology) will guide visitors around the exhibition site before breaking for individual exploration of soundscapes and installations. We will regroup afterwards for a discussion and Q&A.
The exhibition is free, open to the public, and entirely outdoors / 'covid-secure'. It runs Sept. 20 - Oct. 22, 2021, with the installations shaped by the local environment over time.
