Event overview
The Contemporary Music Research Unit is pleased to present Peter Sheppard Skaerved (violin ) with guest artist Roderick Chadwick on piano in the first of the new year's events.
Peter Sheppard Skaerved celebrates some of the wonderful new works that flowered during Lockdown 2020-2021. Despite everything, composers dug deep, finding inspiration and visions of the world denied to them, to us all, at their desks. These ranged from exquisite miniatures, through to major cycles. For Lockdown revealed the importance, for all of us, of collaboration and communication. This concert reflects on this time of creativity, in works written for Peter over the past 18 months.
Peter is delighted to welcome the great pianist, and scholar, Roderick Chadwick to Goldmiths. Roderick is acclaimed for his extraordinarily sensitive virtuosity, revealed in critically acclaimed recordings of Messiaen, Stockhausen, Szymanowski, Jeremy Dale Roberts, Michael Finnissy and many more.
The concert marks the release of Edward Cowie's 'Bird Portraits' for Piano and Violin, on Metier/Divine Art.
