Event overview
Interactive sound installation that uses data streams translated into an immersive and dynamic soundscape, created by MMus Sonic Arts student Giulio Matheson.
SoniContamination is an interactive sound installation that uses data streams collected in real-time and translated into an immersive and dynamic soundscape. The artist explores the inherent narrative quality of sound in the attempt to render complex natural phenomena, specifically water quality monitoring, more accessible to non-scientifically trained audiences, who are required to interact by directly affecting the state of the water. Changes in sound indicate changes in the water, using interactive art to hopefully spark a reflection on the impact of human activities on ecosystems and our dependency on the biosphere.
