AGNESSH DUTTA is a guitarist and creative improviser from Kolkata, India. His music is focused on developing a unique sound on the guitar and creating a confluence of western genres of music and Indian Classical music. His work as a filmmaker has inspired him to search for narratives in music. Agneesh uses Indian Classical Ragas as tools, isolating them from the rules and the regulations they come with. He sees them as exotic scales with new harmonic potentials considering many combinations of these intervallic distances are unique to Indian Classical and cannot be found in western harmony. The art of storytelling through spontaneous improvisation with minimal composition is his area of research. Agneesh’s funky, gritty and eclectic music becomes a way for him to communicate his ideas and express himself to anybody willing to lend an ear.
These final performances are free and open to all, no need to book and will also be live-streamed on our YouTube channel.
