The Parklife research project aims to empower young people as creative researchers

Recruitment of Goldsmiths Students to work on Park Life, a project with Deptford Green Secondary school:
What you will do:
Develop your facilitation skills, and learn how to plan participatory creative campaigning sessions for secondary students
Work closely with teachers at DG school, be trained and supported by facilitator Laila Sumpton, Francis Gilbert and Goldsmiths Alumni who have worked on the project previously.
Support and train students to take part in an advocacy meeting
Help DG students become facilitators and run workshops for students in a youth group or primary/secondary school
Develop and launch an advocacy tool kit with students, with the support of the Park Life Team.
Contribute to the evaluation and learnings from this project
Project info:
Deliver approximately 20 sessions between Jan - July 2023. Sessions 3 - 4pm Mondays at the school.
Work as a group of 4 students delivering the weekly sessions during term time.
Take part in 7 1-2 hour training sessions, and do a weekly check in with Laila Sumpton who will support your session delivery and planning.
Fee: at the student ambassador rate of £11.50/hr, 20 sessions is £230.
We are looking to recruit students who
are passionate about helping young people raise their voices and create change, particularly around youth rights and the environment
have some experience delivering workshops, but are looking to develop their skills
have a creative practice of their own, that you can use to help facilitate creative workshops - photography, creative writing, film, art, lyrics OR an interest in supporting young people in this work.
have campaigning experience of their own OR an interest in this
are dedicated, reliable and positive.
