Event overview
Join us to leaf through two zine collections and be inspired to make your own (if you fancy it)
This event marks the end of Queer Zine Library's four month residency in Special Collections and Archives as well as marking the occasion that Goldsmiths’ own zine collection is now borrowable from the open shelves!
Come explore zines from the Queer Zine Library: a mobile library celebrating radical LGBTQIA+ self-publishing. Learn about the power of queer diy self-publishing and explore ongoing histories of art, music, and resistance in the new Liberate Zines Collection here at Goldsmiths. The short introduction to the zine library will be followed by an interactive zine making workshop. If you don’t feel like making a zine, join us to take a look at the zines we have. No skills or experience necessary, all materials provided.
Zines made in the workshop can be added to the Queer Zine Library and Goldsmiths Zine Collection to be read and discovered by future readers.
Workshop Outline:
Intro to Queer Zine Library, overview of queer zine history
Browsing Queer Zine Library/Liberate Zines Collections for inspiration
Re-grouping and sharing zines we’ve connected with
Zine making
