Event overview
Performance Research Forum hosts a range of events, talks and presentations by established and early-career researchers and practitioners in theatre and performance.
This event marks the publication of Performing Collaboration in Solo Performance: A Duet Without You and Practice as Research, edited by Chloé Déchery (Intellect Playtext series, February 2023). The book offers a multi-modal perspective into the collaborative process that informed the making of the performance piece A Duet Without You (2015). More broadly, the book offers to examine the politics of collaboration and authorship as they unfold in the rehearsal room as well as on stage, or even, more widely in the public sphere and the privacy of our homes.
The book launch will incorporate a roundtable discussion facilitated by Clare Finburgh Delijani, with Karen Christopher, Diana Damian Martin and Mary Paterson, each of whom contributed to the book. Chloé Déchery will also introduce the conceptual and methodological thinking behind the book and will delve into the practice research that informed the creative process of the performance.
