The Centre for the Study of the Balkans of the Goldsmiths’ Department of History, in collaboration with Goldsmiths’ Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies, and the Institute for Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship, cordially invites you to the presentation of the book Blank by Fedja Štukan (2020).
The book’s author Fedja Štukan, an internationally renowned actor from Bosnia-Herzegovina (A Perfect Day; In the Land of Blood and Honey; Kursk), producer, human rights activist, rock musician and pilot talks about his personal past featured by the war in Sarajevo, hopelessness and substance addiction, loss and death and finding purpose in life to stand for peace, justice and tolerance. How does one cross the line between life and death? What does it take to move from a war zone to a Hollywood production? And what is the actor’s message to leaders who lead their nations into wars?
