Event overview
Ever wondered what a river looks like from a ducks-eye point of view? Ever thought about if you’d dare to drink river water? Ever been curious about what rivers really sound like?
Throughout 2023, MA Design students from Goldsmiths University have been exploring some of these questions (and more) in relation to some of Lewisham’s rivers. Come along to this fun, family-friendly showcase of their work at Ladywell Fields to find out what they’ve been up to and get involved in some riverside experiments.
Activities include:
• Building and testing ‘duck cams’ to explore the Ravensbourne River
• Make your own tiles to explore your memories and stories of rivers
• Listen to the sounds of the river
• Take part in a Chinese tea ceremony
• Join a boat launch from the riverbank
• Develop a puppet show about hidden rivers
All are welcome, activities are suitable for children and their parents/carers. No need to book, just come along and get involved.
