Event overview
Share your LGBTQIA+ joy in a game
Help the Library make a collaborative game for an upcoming exhibition focused on positive experiences of LGBTQIA+ / queer people by creating a retro pixel-style game character and sharing a sentence or two about your character’s joyful thoughts and positive experiences in the game.
The characters can represent your own positive and joyful experiences or someone else's.
To inspire you, we’ll have some LGBTQIA+/queer-themed items on display from Goldsmiths Special Collections & Archives.
Even if you're not a game maker or a coder or have never made a game before, you're still welcome to get involved. No coding or computer skills are needed. We'll be creating the characters on paper during this event, and the game will be put together in Bitsy – a retro pixel-style game engine – before the exhibition launches in 2024.
This is a drop-in session, so attendance for the whole period of the event is not required.
