Event overview
Follow the route of the River Ravensbourne with Emma Jackson and Louise Rondel
As part of the Deptford X Fringe, this soundwalk follows the route of the River Ravensbourne from Lewisham DLR station to Creekside in Deptford. Participants will be guided by an initial set of prompts, encouraging them to tune in to the soundscape of this dynamic slice of London in order to reflect on processes of environmental and social change.
This event is part of the project 'Place-making and the rivers of Lewisham' and will be documented through note-taking and photography by project researchers. Participants will be given the option to submit their reflections on the walk to the project archive.
Please note that this walk will involve quietly walking along stretches of the River Ravensbourne between Lewisham DLR and Creekside in Deptford as we listen to the landscape. The walk will take place on pavements and paved pathways through parks and will involve crossing roads, including walking alongside and crossing roads carrying sizeable amounts of traffic.
