Event overview
A workshop held jointly by the Centre for Feminist Research at Goldsmiths and the Goldsmiths Student Union as part of a new series titled Disobedient Bodyminds
This is a two hour afternoon workshop that will be facilitated by Inanna Justice and Ghiwa Sayegh at Goldsmiths Student Union (SU), second floor, The Venue.
Join Inanna and Ghiwa as they centre kink and play in order to discuss and practice the (mis)use of objects and spaces that are intended as white/straight/ableist and as a strategy for self-defense and resistance.
Who is this for?
Due to the limited space, this workshop is only open to 30-35 people. Given the overwhelming whiteness of kink-related spaces in the UK, we would like to prioritise Black and PoC participants, particularly Black and PoC queer, trans, disabled, crip, working class, fat, and migrant folks. So please be mindful of this when you are registering.
This workshop is open to everyone regardless of whether they have experience with kink or are new to this. You do not have to be a student/staff at Goldsmiths to join us!
Location and Access:
This workshop is being held at the Goldsmiths Student Union (SU) on the Second Floor at 'The Venue'.
This space can be accessed by lift (on the right side after entering the SU building on the ground floor) or by stairs (on the left side). We have different types of seating options available and the room is ventilated. We do encourage you be covid-safe by taking an LFT before coming and wearing a mask if possible. Goldsmiths SU is wheelchair accessible.
If you have any access needs or information that you'd like us to be aware of, please email us CFRGoldsmiths@gmail.com or contact us through Eventbrite.
Care:
We aim to create this space with consideration and care for all present. After the workshop, there will be an opportunity to continue conversations and care for each other. If there is anything you'd like to raise/share before, during, or after the event, you can email us (email above) or approach the facilitators and organisers at the event.
