Event overview
Launch event for the Museum of Everyday Life
Please join us for the launch of the Museum of Everyday Life.
The Museum of Everyday Life is a new online archive and museum that engages with the archive collection of the Lewisham Local History Society. This extraordinary collection of historical objects, images, and ephemera predominantly spans the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Much, but not all, of the collection relates to the history of Lewisham and the surrounding areas.
Alongside the digital aspects of the project, the Museum of Everyday Life also has a physical presence in an exhibition cabinet located in the foyer of the Goldsmiths library.
The Museum is directed and curated by Dr John Price, Senior Lecturer in the Department of History.
This event will launch the online archive and museum and the inaugural physical exhibition, 'Lewisham at War' which is currently on display in the library foyer.
A talk about the museum and the archive collection will be followed by an introduction to the new physical exhibition, and there will be a drinks reception to close the event.
Please arrive from around 5.15pm for a 5.30pm start.
