Three Poets: Livia Franchini, Lan McArdle and Sam Weselowski
Sam Weselowski is a poet, essayist, and PhD candidate in English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick. His pamphlets include Triple Rainforest (Veer2, 2023), Love Poems <3 (Distance No Object, 2021), and I LOVE MY JOB (If a Leaf Falls Press, 2019). His critical writing has appeared in C Magazine, ReIssue, Canadian Literature and, with Myka Tucker-Abramson, The Routledge Companion to Politics and Literature in English. He lives in the West Midlands.
Lan McArdle is from London. Their writing has appeared in Modern Queer Poets Vol. 1 (Pilot Press), Prelude Magazine, Poems in Which, Structo Magazine, Brief Encounters, and Wax Nine, among others. Their short story 'Butter' was shortlisted for the Desperate Literature Prize, and their work was longlisted for the 2020 Pat Kavanagh Prize. Their debut pamphlet ‘split ends/rooms’ is published by Makina Books.
Livia Franchini is a writer & translator from Tuscany, Italy. She is the author of a novel, SHELF LIFE (Doubleday, 2019) and a poetry pamphlet, OUR AVAILABLE MAGIC (Makina Books, 2019). Her latest English-language translation is THE SKY IS FALLING by Lorenza Mazzetti (Another Gaze Publications, 2023) and a second novel is slated for publication by Doubleday in 2024. With Lucy Mercer, she co-edits TOO LITTLE/TOO HARD, a magazine on the intersections of work, time and value. She lives in London.
