Professor Justin Hansford will discuss his work as a lawyer in the Black Lives Matter and reparations movements and reflect on the UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent.
Please join the Unit for Global Justice and the Centre for Urban and Community Research for a seminar with Professor Justin Hansford, Founder and Executive Director of the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Center at Howard University.
Professor Hansford is a leading scholar and activist in the areas of critical race theory, human rights, and law and social movements. He was elected as one of ten Members of the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent in December 2021.
Professor Hansford will discuss his work as a critical race theory scholar, as a movement lawyer in the Black Lives Matter movement and the reparations movement, and provide reflections on the first 3 sessions of the United Nations Permanent Forum on People of African Descent.
