Event overview
Improvisation with the Hugh Davies Collection, performed by the Goldsmiths Laptop Ensemble
Join us at midday this week for our daily releases of works created by students working in the Department of Music and Goldsmiths.
The Goldsmiths Laptop Ensemble are: Taehoon Park, Aisling Gallagher, Niamh Gallagher and Anirudh Krishna Sathyanarayanan. Ensemble led by Dr Jenn Kirby with Niamh Gallagher.
The Goldsmiths Laptop Ensemble compose, programme, and improvise using controllers, objects and laptops. In this improvisation, they will make use of objects from the Hugh Davies Improvisation Collection within the Goldsmiths Special Collections at the Electronic Music Studios. They explore the sonic characteristics of these objects through processing, sampling and play.
We would also like to thank Dr Marcus Leadley and Adam Barkley from the Electronic Music Studios for letting us perform with this collection.
