Culture, Composition, Politics; Series One “Music in Northern Venice”
6 pm – Special Guest: composer Alexander Radvilovich (St Petersburg) talks about the young generation of Russian composers who have grown up and been educated in St Petersburg, most Western of all Russian cities, and traditionally more influenced by the culture of Western Europe.
7pm – Goldsmiths students join Alexander Radvilovich in performance of his music, as well as the works by his younger colleagues Anastasia Khrushcheva and Leonid Rezetdinov.
Programme to include:
Nastasia Khruscheva (b. 1987): Two Preludes and Fugues for well prepared Klavier
Alexander Radvilovich (b. 1955): 2-1-3
(in 3 movements: 'Mirrors' for clarinet and violin;
'Sa(e)iten' for piano solo &
'Music for Three' for clarinet, violin, piano)
