Event overview
Student Sessions welcomes Cordelia Cembrowicz, Artist in Residence at Climate Rush, to discuss the importance of creativity in direct action
Looking at the limitations and possibilities of environmentally based art practice, this session calls into question the effectiveness of today's protest culture.
Inspired by the actions of the Suffragettes 100 years ago - showing that peaceful civil disobedience could inspire positive change, Climate Rush demand "deeds not words" to call a stop runaway global warming. Considering the power of creativity and collaboration in the face of adversity, this important discussion will raise thoughts on the relationship between Art and Activism today.
