Discussion on listening to relative silence and noise with Rachel Gomme and John Levack Drever (Senior Lecturer in Music, Goldsmiths) to coincide with their sound and video installation at South London Gallery:
audience : hearing
A gathering of silences… the breath of presence.
What is present in silence? Is one person’s silence different from another’s? A delicate, intimate installation of minimal human sound, drawn from audio recordings of over 100 individual silences, audience : hearing explores the quality of the silent presence and offers the visitor an opportunity to add their own, living silence to this gathering.
