Event overview
As part of the Visual Cultures Lecture Series, Alex Dütttmann will be speaking on the notion of birth.
How often can we be born? Philosophers and artists haven often felt the need to distinguish between at least two different births. But how has this distinction been justified? An answer will be sought in Arendt's 'Human Condition', Hegel's 'Science of Logic', Heidegger's 'Being and Time', and in the autobiography of Spanish writer Rosa Chacel.
