Event overview
As part of the Visual Cultures MA Guest Lecture Series, philosopher Gerald Cipriani will be speaking on dialogue.
'Between Appeal and Response: The Expression of Cultural Formations'
The expression of cultural formations is bound to spring from a special relationship between individuals, groups and other entities. In this light, the lecture looks at 'dialogue' as a relational fundamental and its possibility in the context of globalisation through a selective reading of the philosophies of Kyoto School thinker Nishida Kitaro (1870-1945) and French phenomenologist Jean-Louis Chrétien (1952-).
