Event overview
The Amadè Players with John Roan School present Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’.
This concert, the culmination of a week-long collaboration between The Amadè Players, The John Roan School and the Department of Music at Goldsmiths, University of London, this concert will showcase the talents of thirty music students alongside a cast of professional young singers and instrumentalists.
Purcell's opera, of England's first, has been used in an educational setting for around 300 years and this project illustrates how relevant the work remains today. The Amadè Players take an innovative approach to music education, combining period instruments and historically informed techniques with computer technology and hands-on sessions.
We are delighted to be working with The John Roan School, and hope you will join us for this exciting evening of beautiful music.
Tickets are just £4, including a copy of the souvenir programme.
