Soprano Irina Tutt and Nina Nikitina (piano) present a unique selection of songs which explore the development of Russian song in 20th century, as part of the series hosted by the Centre for Russian Music.
Irina Tutt is a Russian born soprano, a graduate with honours from N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire, St. Petersburg. Irina took part in regular productions at the Conservatoire Opera and Ballet Theatre, performing Tatiana in “Eugene Onegin”, Laura and Iolanta in “Iolanta”, Lisa in “Queen of Spades” by P.I.Tchaikovsky, Clara in “La Duenna” by S.S. Prokofiev, Fiordiligi in “Cosi fan tutte”. While studying she entered the Mariinsky Theatre Young Artists Academy and was awarded the 3rd prize in the S.V. Rachmaninov Vocal Competition in St. Petersburg. After graduating Irina won a scholarship for study on the “Opera Studio” course at Santa Cecilia National Academy of Music in Rome. Irina's repertoire ranges from Early European to 20th century music. She performs recitals of Russian and European repertoire in the UK and Russia.
