Event overview
"from reporter in sound to drone aesthetics"
The Unit for Sound Practice Research presents sound artist Michael Rüsenberg who will give a lecture on his collaborations with Hans-Ulrich Werner.
Michael Rüsenberg will chart a line of his sound art works, starting from the "documentary" orientated work with Hans Ulrich Werner, "Lisboa - a soundscape portrait", 1994, to "Notre Dame de Paris" (working title), 2011, his first work that is not based on field recordings but music recordings of other composers, notably Leonin and Perotin from 13th Century France.
Michael Rüsenberg, born 1948, has done jazz-radio since 1973, started his interest in soundart in the early nineties, both as journalist and artist. Half a dozen albums, 4 soundart videos with Peter Hoelscher recently.
Hans-Ulrich Werner has worked in radio and written extensively on soundscape art. This piece is woven from several of his works, though most of it is from "Vanscape Motion" a piece he composed in 1996 from recordings of Vancouver made in 1972.
All welcome, not just for graduates!
