The opera company of Goldsmiths presents Verdi's La Traviata
An opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi, La Traviata is set to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave. It is based on 'La dame aux Camélias' (1852), a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas.

Alfredo Germont, a young bourgeois from a provincial family: Farhad Amiri
Giorgio Germont, Alfredo's father: James Schouten
Flora Bervoix, Violetta's friend: Hannah Cameron/Hannah Bishay
Annina, Violetta's maid: Minna Nygren/Christina Johnson
Gastone, Alfredo's friend: Matt Haas
Barone Douphol, Violetta's lover, a rival of Alfredo: Eliot Williams
Marchese d'Obigny: Tim Patrick
Dottore Grenvil: Steven East
Giuseppe, Violetta's servant: Gwyn Davies/Geoff Ewen

This performance is fully staged, featuring students past and present from Goldsmiths, directed by Nan Christie, and conducted by Tim Hooper.
