Event overview
The long-awaited National Plan for Music Education marks a turning point in how schools will deliver music learning after September 2012. Please join us for a study day at Goldsmiths to assess the Plan’s impact and to explore response strategies with fellow music educators. This event will feature keynote speaker Peter Hayward, Head of Lewisham Music Service, who will share his insights into the National Plan. Led by Nick Newland (MA, Goldsmiths and director of The Amadè Players), pupils from the Mulberry School for Girls will perform as part of the day’s practical workshop demonstration.
This free event is organized by Goldsmiths Outreach Department and GoldMusNet, an initiative led by Dr Berta Joncus, Goldsmiths Department of Music, to support music education. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.
