Penny Arcade (aka Susana Ventura) is an internationally acclaimed writer, poet, essayist, cultural critic, performance, theatre and video artist. Having been involved in Andy Warhol’s Factory (featured in the film Women in Revolt), she was an original member of John Vaccaro’s explosive The Playhouse of the Ridiculous: NY's famed queer, glitter/glam, rock and roll, political theatre. She is the author of ten full length performance plays and is currently at work on AFTERMATH about the transformational spiritual awakening that occurred after the onset of the Aids epidemic. A partial collection of her performance scripts with DVDs was published in hardcover by Semiotext(e) Press and MIT PRESS in January 2010. She is currently at work on her long anticipated memoir , “The Broken Genuis Girl Must Always Be Sacrificed” as well as a book about the influential artist Jack Smith, (whose archive she founded in 1989 with film critic J Hoberman) The Curse of Jack Smith.
