'Sotheby’s Auction House: A Window on Musical Worlds, Past and Present'
In this lecture Dr Maguire, Senior Music Specialist at Sotheby’s and Visiting Fellow at Goldsmiths, will discuss the range and rarity of items that come up for auction. He will also address the problems of preserving and valuing the products of contemporary composers, performers and other musicians in the age of email, Sibelius notation and computer composition, and will shed light on the many private sources that have passed through Sotheby's in relation to the bi-centenaries in 2013 of Verdi and Wagner.
Free event, all welcome, not just for graduates!
