Second of four workshops on 'Mechanisms of social perception across the lifespan'
In the New Academic Building at Goldsmiths on 26 June 2013 (10am-4pm, with refreshments / lunch provided).
The workshop on 'Social Perception In Childhood' will bring together leading experts to discuss the development of mechanisms of social perception in childhood, the impact of maltreatment on social development, and how differences in social perception abilities contribute to broader social interactions during childhood.
Confirmed speakers:
Dr Kathrin Cohen Kadosh (University of Oxford) - Discussing 'Developmental changes in facial expression processing during childhood.'
Dr Alice Jones (Goldsmiths, University of London) - Discussing 'Emotions and empathy in children with behavioural problems.'
Dr Stephane De Brito (University of Birmingham) - Discussing the relationship between childhood maltreatment and social abilities.
Prof Adam Rutland (Goldsmiths, University of London) - Discussing socio-cognitive development in childhood.
The workshop is free to attend and open to the public; however registration is required. To register please email socialperceptionuk@gmail.com with ‘Childhood’ as the subject header. We would especially like to encourage the involvement of early career researchers.
