Carol MacGillivray, Bruno Mathez and Professor Frederic Fol Leymarie showcase Stylus
Building on their success at Music Tech Fest and the Kinetica Artfair, Goldsmiths students Carol MacGillivray and Bruno Mathez with Professor Frederic Fol Leymarie, Department of Computing, will showcase their kinetic artwork Stylus, 19-28 July in Studio 3, Department of Theatre and Performance at Goldsmiths.
Stylus is a site-specific artwork that combines sound and vision in perfect synthesis. Using the newly developed diasynchronic technique - which lifts animation off the screen and brings it into the same space as the audience - Stylus is a meditation on simple looped patterns of visual music that builds to a complex and melodic kinetic sculpture.
It is the first diasynchronic artwork that can be appreciated in the round and this version is enhanced by a 3D sound system created collaboratively with 3D sound expert, Martyn Ware (Illustrious Company).
