Women in Computing: an afternoon of talks and workshops

2pm in the Ben Pimlott Lecture Theatre – all welcome
Workshops:
3.30pm (places limited – see below for registration)
The Women in Computing network at Goldsmiths invites you to attend an afternoon of talks and workshops on Wednesday 25th September.
Undergraduate and postgraduate women students are all welcome - it doesn’t matter what your degree programme is or whether you’re a new or a continuing student. This is particularly aimed at women students but men students are also welcome to attend the talks.
The afternoon looks like this:
2pm Welcome to WiC
2.10 Women in Computing, a talk by Dr Kate Devlin
2.30 Women Pioneers, a talk by Rain Ashford
3pm Q+A with Kate and Rain.
3.15 Break
3.30 Free workshops for those who have registered in advance
If you want to stay on for the workshop session after the talks please choose one of the following workshops:
1. Build a Contact Microphone with Freida Abtan (3.30 – 5pm)
2. Wearable Technology for Beginners with Rain Ashford (3.30 – 5.30)
(if you select this workshop please bring with you a piece of fabric of your choice, approx 30cm by 30cm)

Places are limited so please sign up by Tuesday 24th 5pm and we’ll tell you by email where each workshop is taking place. If all places have been allocated by the time you sign up then you’ll be placed on a waiting list and notified if places become available.
