Event overview
Featuring Jacob Aria and James Marples
Week two of our pop up shop brings you two more NX artists:
Jacob Aria
With a heart-breaking, beautiful voice, Jacob battles to echo the voices of torch singers within the modern realms of synthesizers and drum machines.

James Marples
Drawing comparisons with a young Scott Walker, James Marples blends eerie rockabilly and atmospheric Chanson. His rich baritone voice is backed by spidery guitar lines, off-kilter piano and sleazy grooves.
All performances start at 7.30 and there is limited space so numbers will be restricted- make sure you turn up nice and early!

Launched just six months ago, NX Records, a collaborative independent label from Matthew Herbert’s Accidental and Goldsmiths, University of London, has already produced a flurry of truly special creative activity to justify the media and industry buzz. Not content with an acclaimed introductory mixtape and series of live shows demonstrating strength in depth to put most majors to shame, NX is delighted to announce the opening of the NX Records Pop Up Shop.
The first venture of its kind in New Cross, the shop will be open from Sat 19th October until Sat 23rd November, and will offer a unique record buying experience in a lively, friendly atmosphere. As well as the most desirable new vinyl and CDs from a range of labels, we’ll be showcasing limited edition releases from NX Records artists and friends unavailable elsewhere, as well as a range of unique handcrafted releases and zines provided by Goldsmiths’ own ‘Editions of You’ distro.
Honouring our commitment to the local creative community and to a new generation of upcoming artists, the shop will also host talks, workshops and Q&A sessions from industry experts, and one-of-a-kind, intimate in-store performances from NX and other local artists including Holy Milk, Thefft, Buffalo Ink and Crewdson.
