The Amadè Players approach concerts from both performance and research perspectives, so as to offer an historically informed sound. They feel the crucial word is informed, and do not seek to achieve the impossible in sound creation or assuming the intent of a composer, but rather give their audience an exciting performance based upon in-depth historical and musicological research, combined with musicianship of the highest quality.
In October 2013 they launched their first CD, Vivaldi: A London Perspective, which features world premiere recordings of the composer's violin sonatas, discovered in the archives of the Gerald Coke Handel Collection, London. This recording has been made possible with kind support of the Gerald Coke Handel Foundation. They will shortly release their second CD, Mozart: The Horn Concertos, recorded in honour of the late Principal Horn, Ed Mills, and featuring Anneke Scott and Roger Montgomery alongside their regulars.
The 2014 Season continues their long-standing residency at The Foundling Museum, with performances of Vivaldi and Handel; we give the modern World Premiere of Wanhal's Requiem Mass, and tour our production of Handel's Rodelinda. Last season they made their Purcell Room debut, performed Handel's Messiah with 100 school children and gave two world broadcast premieres of Vivaldi sonatas on the BBC.
