Event overview
A Plate Reverb in an Acoustic Feedback Loop
MMus student Michael Speers's sound installation will use a plate reverb in a large space to augment acoustic feedback.
Signal from a microphone in the room will be fed through the plate, the sound of which is played into the room with loudspeakers so that the signal is fed back into the microphone. This feedback will be controlled using a hardware compressor.
The resonances of both the room and the steel plate will shape the feedback over time.
On Sunday 24th August he'll be performing acoustically with percussion in the space to see how the feedback responds to intervening sounds.
All welcome at any time to the performance(s)
